Product Spotlight: Wireless Motion Sensor

Did you know…

Wireless Motion Sensor

1. The Card Access Wireless Motion Sensor is one of very few motion sensors available that has a software-adjustable sensitivity setting. It digitally samples and processes the PIR (passive infrared) sensor data so that you can actually tune it to suit your motion sensing needs – no need to worry about ordering different pet-immune models!

2.You can “cascade” (or link) multiple Wireless Motion Sensors together to cover a large area, such as the back yard of a home, by a simple drag-and-drop in the Connections Tab of Composer. It’s like having one giant Motion Sensor.

3. The Wireless Motion Sensor has a 110º to 160º wide-angle lens with a range of up to 50 feet.

4. The Wireless Motion Sensor has integrated light-level sensing that will measure between 0.1 to 10,000 lux. You can use this to program different automation events for different times of day – like turning on a light when someone walks into the sitting room, but only when there is not sufficient sunlight coming in through the window.

5. The Wireless Motion Sensor’s battery life is usually 1-2 years, and a non-rechargable lithium battery can last even longer. When the battery does get low, you can program notification events in Composer using the Motion Sensor’s “Battery Low” and “Battery Critical” variables to make sure batteries are changed in time.
